Question 1

How much do martial arts classes cost?

Accepted Answer

Tuition varies based on program and class frequency. Most families invest about the same as a youth sport or music lessons. Call us at 847-965-7778 for current pricing and family discounts — we'll match a plan to your goals.

Question 2

Do you offer a free trial?

Accepted Answer

Yes. New students get 2 weeks of classes free. No credit card, no contract, no obligation. It's the best way to see if Max Martial Arts is the right fit.

Question 3

What should I wear to my first class?

Accepted Answer

Comfortable athletic clothing — t-shirt and sweatpants or shorts. You'll train barefoot. If you decide to enroll, we'll get you a uniform (dobok).

Question 4

How long are classes?

Accepted Answer

Classes typically run 30–45 minutes, depending on age group. Little Tigers are shorter to match their attention span; teen and adult classes run longer.

Question 5

How often should my child train?

Accepted Answer

Twice a week is the sweet spot for steady progress. Three times a week accelerates belt advancement. We'll recommend a frequency based on your child's age and goals.

Question 6

What's the best age to start?

Accepted Answer

We accept students as young as 4 in our Little Tigers program. There's no upper limit — we have adult students well into their 60s. The best age is whatever age you are right now.

Question 7

Are there any contracts?

Accepted Answer

We keep enrollment simple and flexible. Talk to us about month-to-month and longer-term options — we'll explain everything during your free trial, no pressure.

Question 8

What if my child is shy or has never tried a sport?

Accepted Answer

Most of our students start that way. Our instructors specialize in building confidence step-by-step. Within a few classes, parents are amazed at the change.

Question 9

Do you offer family discounts?

Accepted Answer

Yes — multiple family members training together qualify for a discount. Ask about it when you call.
